NEIL PEART
AUTOGRAPHS ...
REAL OR FAKE?
If you are considering
purchasing Neil Peart autographs from
any source, please drop me a line before you do.
There are thousands of fake autographs out there, far more than there
are real ones.
I am more than happy to take a look at photographs of the item and can
authenticate it for you from them.
I never charge for authenticating, and never will. I don't want to see
fans get ripped off, plain and simple.
I have been authenticating on Mr Peart's behalf for several years, and
will continue to do so.
I can do the same authenticating for his unused or used drumsticks as
well.
Most cases I can do so from really good photos, or when necessary, an
in-hand inspection.
My contact email can be found at the very bottom of this webpage, or
search for my name on Facebook.

|
|
Butt
end to middle of thick stripe 1-7/8" (48mm) |
Pro-Mark
transitions from foil stamping their logo to a deep brown paint and
moves the thin band to the right of the thick band on their drumsticks.
The movement of the band was used as an in-house indicator for a change
in production methods.
The band placement allowed for better tracking of the product changes,
especially if any drumsticks were returned due to failure. |

Identifying
pre-1991 models of Neil Peart drumsticks
Prior
to 1991, Pro-Mark used production serial coding when
manufacturing their drumsticks.
Production serial coding began in 1978 and was used through the
eighties up to 1993
on their Rock-747s, Signature 747s and the Neil Peart
Custom models.
You
can
contact me through the email link below, if
you have a model that needs to be identified. |

During
the Hemispheres Tour ... Pro-Mark sent Neil some sample pairs of the

the new product line. Neil gave them a try and declined the
switch. The newer sticks were identical in size and shape,
but the new
wood was about 10% heavier in weight than the model he was accustomed
to using. It is not known the number he tried out. |

Unknown how
many pairs of this printing exist; they are the rarer of the two
versions.

The
ink used on the 'Burning For Buddy' lettering is quite fragile. You
will want to handle and store with great care that they don't rub off. |

THE
NEW NP WATERMARK
In
an effort to
protect fellow fans from fraudulent claims of retail sticks being sold
as sticks
used by Neil,
I made a suggestion to Pro-Mark to place some kind of identifying mark
on sticks shipped only to Neil.
Neil liked the idea and had Pro-Mark place an "NP watermark" in the
thick band of his personal
use models.
All of his personal use models will have the NP watermark from 2007 to
2015.
The personal model drumsticks will not be available through retail
sources. |
